I’d say having the right makeup brush is one of the most important
things in makeup application. For a flawless look you have to choose the right
brushes. The wrong brushes can sometimes make your makeup streaky. Some makeup
brushes can be expensive so I’ve picked out my favourite for affordable prices!
Real Techniques Foundation Brush
Before I bought this, I used to use a cheap £1 foundation brush from Primark. So I decided to treat myself to a better one for applying my foundation. This is a great brush. The angled shape of it allows me to get into areas under my eyes and around my nose and doesn’t leave my foundation streaky. This brush has lasted me ages. With regular washes, it’s still good as new.

Real Techniques Concealer Brush
This is the perfect brush for you girls who suffer from blemishes and dark circles around the eyes. The sharp angle makes it easy to cover those red marks we all hate!
Boots: £7.99
This large super soft brush is perfect for creating a flawless base. The size is perfect for applying loose or pressed powder to set my foundation. The shape if great for targeting the T-zone (where I feel like I need more powder). This is a great brush if you’re on a budget.
Superdrug: £6.99 (was £9.99)
Real Techniques Blush Brush
I’ve tried so many blush brushes in the past but this one has to be my favourite. It’s so soft and applies my blusher beautifully. The shape of the brush is not only perfect for applying blush but it also works great for bronzer and highlighter. Although it is larger than other blush brushes I have used in the past for my blush, it allows the blush to go on evenly to the apples of the cheeks giving a flawless natural look. It even keeps its shape and softness after washing (watch out for my post on the best way to wash your makeup brushes).
Boots: £9.99
B. Contour Brush
This is perfect for adding a bit of contour to your face. It’s
so soft and the angle of the bristles allows precise application when adding a
bit of colour to your cheekbones.
Superdrug: £5.99 (was £8.99)
Look Good Feel Better Complexion Sponge
OK I know this isn’t a brush but it’s one of my favourite tools to apply my foundation. I used to use the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge but I felt like it went hard and didn’t expand much when damp. The shape of this sponge is perfect for concealing dark areas and doesn’t leave any streaks.
Boots: £7.49
